New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks issued 50 vehicle and traffic tickets to drivers committing various violations on a stretch of the interstate on Saturday, Feb. 1.
During the detail, troopers dished out 17 speeding tickets, eight tickets to motorists violating the "move over law," 10 for cell phone infractions, four drivers for not wearing a seatbelt, and 11 others for various violations.
The detail came on the heels of several similar details in the area targeting speeding drivers, distracted drivers, and others violating vehicle and traffic law.
